## Fatos da fonte (dados citados em JSON) Texto da CNA em inglês id: "CVE-2021-29443" idYear: 2021 status: "PUBLISHED" publishedAt: "2021-04-16T17:35:12.000Z" updatedAt: "2024-08-03T22:02:52.017Z" importedAt: "2026-10-24T01:56:26.894Z" snapshot: {"id":"cve_2026-10-24_midnight_baseline","at":"2026-10-24T00:00:00.000Z","source":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/releases/tag/cve_2026-10-24_0100Z"} url: "https://cveboard.org/pt/cve/CVE-2021-29443" json: "https://cveboard.org/cve/CVE-2021-29443.json" sourceURL: "https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2021-29443" title: "Padding Oracle Attack due to Observable Timing Discrepancy in jose" summary: "jose is an npm library providing a number of cryptographic operations. In vulnerable versions AES_CBC_HMAC_SHA2 Algorithm (A128CBC-HS256, A192CBC-HS384, A256CBC-HS512) decryption would always execute both HMAC tag verification and CBC decryption, if either failed `JWEDecryptionFailed` would be thrown. A possibly observable difference in timing when padding error would occur while decrypting the ciphertext makes a padding oracle and an adversary might be able to make use of that oracle to decrypt data without knowing the decryption key by issuing on average 128*b calls to the padding oracle (where b is the number of bytes in the ciphertext block). All major release versions have had a patch released which ensures the HMAC tag is verified before performing CBC decryption. The fixed versions are `^1.28.1 || ^2.0.5 || \u003e=3.11.4`. Users should upgrade their v1.x dependency to ^1.28.1, their v2.x dependency to ^2.0.5, and their v3.x dependency to ^3.11.4. Thanks to Jason from Microsoft Vulnerability Research (MSVR) for bringing this up and Eva Sarafianou (@esarafianou) for helping to score this advisory." affected: [{"versions":[{"version":"\u003c 1.28.1","status":"affected"},{"version":"\u003e= 2.0.0, \u003c 2.0.5","status":"affected"},{"version":"\u003e= 3.0.0, \u003c 3.11.4","status":"affected"}],"vendor":"panva","product":"jose"}] ## Licenças e atribuição das fontes CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities: https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog (US government work) GitHub Advisory Database: https://github.com/advisories (CC BY 4.0) Have I Been Pwned: https://haveibeenpwned.com/ (CC BY 4.0) CVE Program (CVE records): https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse (CVE Terms of Use) Copyright © 1999-2026, The MITRE Corporation.
